The UEFA Champions League runs from mid-September to early June. The 2025-26 final is scheduled for Saturday 30 May 2026 in Budapest. UK rights are no longer held by a single broadcaster: TNT Sports is the primary carrier, but Amazon Prime Video and the BBC both joined the UK rights map from 2024-25 onwards.
The 2024-25+ rights split
TNT Sports carries the bulk of the competition, around 186 matches per season, across the league phase, the play-off round, the round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final. Coverage runs on TNT Sports 1 through 4, with the headline match held back for TNT Sports 1. Access is via the TNT Sports app, Discovery+ Premium, or a Sky TV add-on.
Amazon Prime Video holds the exclusive UK rights to one Tuesday-night fixture per matchday, the top-pick game across the league phase. This is the first time Prime Video has taken UCL rights in the UK and is included in standard Amazon Prime membership.
BBC iPlayer and BBC One run a free-to-air midweek highlights show. This is the first time the Champions League has appeared on UK free-to-air television, and the package does not include any live matches.
What this means for a Tuesday and Wednesday
Tuesday’s headline kickoff at 20:00 UK time is on Prime Video; the rest of the Tuesday slate, plus the entire Wednesday slate, sits on TNT Sports. Knockout-round matches (round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, final) revert to TNT exclusively.
Knockout-round schedule
The quarter-finals run across two midweek rounds in April, the semi-finals are in early May, and the final is on the last Saturday of May. Round-of-16 matches air at 20:00 UK time across the Tuesday and Wednesday split, with one English club’s fixture typically promoted to the headline TNT Sports 1 slot.
