The FA Cup is one of the few football competitions in the UK where free-to-air still has a meaningful slice. The rights cycle that began in 2025-26, agreed between The Football Association, the BBC and TNT Sports, runs through the 2029-30 season and moves the primary broadcast home to TNT for the first time.
Who broadcasts the FA Cup in the UK
TNT Sports is now the primary FA Cup broadcaster. It carries the largest share of live ties from the first round proper through to the final, and sub-licenses a selection of fixtures to the BBC. TNT coverage is available via the TNT Sports app, Discovery+ Premium, or a Sky TV add-on.
BBC retains free-to-air coverage of selected ties on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with the bulk concentrated on the third-round weekend in early January, the fifth round, one semi-final and the final in late May. All BBC FA Cup output is free to access via BBC iPlayer with a valid TV licence.
ITV held FA Cup rights through the end of the 2024-25 season but is no longer a rights-holder. Any reference you see online to “FA Cup on ITV” relates to the previous cycle.
The 2025-26 calendar
The 2026 FA Cup final is scheduled for Saturday 16 May 2026 at Wembley Stadium, kicking off at 16:30 BST. Both TNT Sports and the BBC will broadcast it. The semi-finals are scheduled for the weekend of 18-19 April 2026, also at Wembley.
